Ph.D and postdoctoral position on molecular biology and bioinformatics of honey bee pathogens.
The honey bee protection and bio-safety team of Dr. Diao Qingyun (Institute of Apicultural Research, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science) is seeking a PhD and postdoctoral position to head a research project on molecular biology and bioinformatics of honey bee pathogens. The overall project goals are to explore the infection mechanism of pathogens and defense mechanisms of honey bee, and to mine the function genes and utilize present large bioinformatics database to explore the key genes or proteins playing the role in virulence of pathogens. Thus, a combination of field and laboratory work is anticipated.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master or PhD degree in molecular biology and bioinformatics, and pesticide, bacterial and fungi also would welcome, and exhibit outstanding research promise. In addition, demonstration of a high level of scientific productivity, technical skills in molecular biology, and/or functional and bioinformatics genomics, and excellent English communication and organizational skills are desired. The person who are going to postdoctoral position must be under 40 years old.
